Endorsement for Congressional District 1

Congressional District 1 has been a hot bed this election session and at 1st I wished I was in CD1 so I could vote to get ride of Gilchrest.  His votes against the war to override bush's veto's even thought bush has vetoed almost nothing. Voted for the "Hate Crimes" Bill H.R. 1592 last year that would have made McCain-Feingold look good. You would think with such a close race between him and two well funded chandlers he would change his ways.   Think Again!

So enter Andy Harris I had high hopes for him and was glad he was running however. Harris has ran one of the most negative campaigns I have ever seen. He went negative early and stayed negative the entire time. As someone put it the other day it is notable when Harris does something positive.   With Harris running so badly in my view and probably a few others.

Enter Pikin.  Pikin started out pretty good behind but looked like he was getting stuff together pretty fast but then Pikin started going negative as well.  Pikin is also know for being a moderate so you have to wonder are we replacing one Rino with another.

Overall this race has gotten so ugly some bloggers have decided to just no longer write about it.  I don't blame him one bit.  With a list like that you couldn't blame people for wanting to vote NONE of the ABOVE on February 12th.  But in the end someone has to win and you have to try and pick the best out of what is there.  With that being said I will endorse Andy Harris for Congressional District 1.  Of the 3 he has the best overall voting record and is the most conservative of the bunch it would be nice if he could see the light and start running more positive ads.

Thanks Robert

Red Maryland Exclusive:National Review Weighs in GOP Race in CD1

The GOP primary in Maryland’s first congressional district is heating up. Wayne Gilchrest, Andy Harris, and EJ Pipkin are saturating the radio and television airwaves with ads and the Club for Growth has thrown its weight against Gilchrest with its own package of ads.

And now National Review is following the race. John J. Miller has a piece in the upcoming February 11 issue: The Sierra Club Congressman: will conservatives revolt against Rep. Wayne Gilchrest? Red Maryland readers may remember John from his National Review article concerning Carroll County’s plan to place part of the proposed Union Mills Reservoir on a portion of the historic Whittaker Chambers Farm. The article will be available online to NR digital subscribers Friday afternoon.
Gilchrest sides with Pelosi again
This afternoon, the Democrats tried but failed again to override President Bush's veto of their larded-up and onerous version of the SCHIP reauthorization. And guess who voted for the override?

Yep, you're right, Wayne Gilchrest. Sad thing is he had 41 other GOP partners (including Delaware's Mike Castle), but fellow Free Stater Roscoe Bartlett wasn't one of them.
A Whole Lotta Convoluting Going On.
We have reached a point in the First District Congressional race where I am going to just not say anything else on the subject. I am not going to spend additional time trying to track down when something was voted on and where it had to go from there. As I don’t want to put anything out that I might think to be true but really isn’t it is best just to keep quite and stay out of it as I am not getting paid for the headache.
