CLASSIFIED LEOPOLD INFORMATION

WARNING:  REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS ARE NOT NORMAL PEOPLE
CAUTION:  MEDIA AND BLOGGERS ARE UNABLE TO DISTINGUISH BETWEEN ACTUAL NEWS AND THE LATEST ANNAPOLIS GOSSIP

For someone that is just entering the professional political field for the very first time, I must admit that I am extremely fearful of the astounding amount of ignorance that surrounds our news media and those within the “blog-o-sphere”.  I slightly understand -- in a twisted way -- why the media would publish and broadcast gossip.  Money is behind those actions.  The mighty dollar bill happens to be why the media would exploit an unfounded issue.  Bloggers, such as the infamous and “most influential” Sir Brian Griffiths, manage to see a darker side of ignorance.  The reasoning behind their actions manage to leave me dumbfounded.

Unless you have fallen off the face of the planet, I’m sure you have heard about the ridiculous rumors surrounding one of Anne Arundel County’s best GOP politician in decades:  County Executive John R. Leopold.  While having had the unique privilege of meeting countless public servants from both parties, I must say that Leopold appears to approach his job from a different angle.  Unlike many, he has passion for serving his constituents.  His love for making people’s lives better than the day before is clearly evident.  While some politicians in Annapolis and throughout the state have a creepy side to them, Leopold has always seemed to positively stand apart.  Quite simply, he has one of the highest moral and ethical characters of anyone I know in politics today.  That means a lot.

When an individual tend to be at the top of their game, and when they threaten the status quo, those inferior become jealous and intimidated.  There is nothing more dangerous than a group of people threatened by success that comes with honesty.  Leopold has gotten where he is today because of his admirable past.  I would not put it past the media, politicians, community activists, or anyone that does not care for John to have set him up.  This is a classic example of desperate people doing desperate things to bring a good man down.

Why would a veteran public figure think it would be a good idea to have sex in the back seat of a car that literally broadcasts his name?!  Are we foolish enough to think that a man that has been at the top of his game would make such a mistake?  Leopold doing such a thing would quite simply defy any logic that one with common sense and a brain would possess.  The police found it unfounded.  No investigation was launched.  Nothing happened.

---The End---

There are several things that I have personally learned from this situation:
1)  Never change clothes in the back seat of a car.  A Nordstrom manager might think you are having sex.  Even if you are over 6 feet tall (Leopold) in a small back seat.
2)  Taking a possible nap in a parked vehicle makes someone look guilty.  God forbid if I’m tired.
3)  For that matter, never ever be in the back seat of my car.  Otherwise, everyone will think I’m having sex.
4)  When at a parade, be sure to sign little Brian Griffiths “Vote for Me” sign.  Be certain to shake his hand to boost his ego.  Otherwise, he might get upset and write on his “influential” blog.  Oh the horror!
5)  Never take what Thomas Jefferson said to heart, “never respond to public displace or rumor weeds.  They only take way from the goal that you have set ahead”.  No comment apparently is a comment?  I am going back to elementary school to understand basic deductive reasoning and meaning of words.  Last time I checked, when someone does not want to talk about something or fan the flame, they simply do not play into the game.

County Executive John Leopold:  Thank you for your honorable and admirable service to Anne Arundel County.  You truly are a role model to me.  The truth you proclaimed will end this pathetic situation.

Leopold for Governor ‘10!

DANGER:  The contents of this message are bound to be taken out of context.  I might be part of the next “great scandal” since I typed this in the back seat of my car.  I beg the mercy of the media and bloggers!

Leopold

Maybe Leopold is just a human being. You never really know who someone is, not really. We all like to believe in the goodness of people, but you really never know what people are capable of. He's just a man. Why does it matter what he did anyway?
