Do We Want Obama to Succeed at Reforming Health Care

Some of my fellow Conservatives bristle at the thought that some of us don't want the Obama administration to "succeed." So I thought I would spend a few posts trying to find what we can all agree we want Obama to be succeed at. First up, health care.

"Going Green" Means More Ways to Separate You from the Green in Your Pocket

Another lesson from the liberal playbook, "Utilities to Add Conservation Fees: Regulators OK Plan to Subsidize Initiative Aimed at Reducing Energy Use," Baltimore Sun, 1 January 2009, by Gadi Dechter:

Maryland consumers will begin paying small monthly fees on electric bills this year to subsidize an ambitious energy-conservation initiative, under plans approved by resulators yesterday.

Your Tax Dollars At Work

Just some things you money is being "wisely spent" on: - $160 million to pay "volunteers" at the Corporation for National and Community Service - $45 million for the removal of fish passage barriers - $248 million to buy furniture for the Department of Homeland Security - $300 million for new cars for government bureaucrats - $4.8 million for a polar bear exhibit in Rhode Island - $3 million in

Expert Commentary of the DNC: Tuesday

Okay, no kidding around this time, I'm on the job. Mamma Clinton speaks tonight, and I'm not going to miss it.

I situate myself in the Barca Lounger. Having a sinus headache all day, I fortify myself with a handful of Benedril and steel myself for the coming event.

Expert Commentary of the DNC: Monday

I thought it would be a great idea to provide my expert commentary on the DNC going on in Denver. But since I wouldn't be caught dead in that nest of liberals (and also because I'm lazy, but that's kinda genetic), I'm going to give you the benefit of my wisdom from my basement.

They Massage Horses, Don't They?

The war in Georgia, high energy prices, the Presidental election, the slowing economy; cast the petty thoughts from your minds, fellow citizens. How can we worry about trival, mundane things when tyranny stalks our lands, depriving our beasts their massages?
